Frutti di Luglio.

Mentre in Italia a luglio si assaporano angurie, albicocche e pesche dolcissime, in Finlandia a luglio giungono a maturazione i frutti di bosco piu’ noti, e non solo.

Ad esempio i Lamponi: quest’anno la natura ce ne ha regalati in gran quantita’. Questi nelle mie foto sono selvatici e quindi piu’ piccoli di quelli coltivati, ma il sapore e il profumo sono straordinari.

Anche i primi Mirtilli comunque hanno fatto capolino nel sottobosco: loro sono piu’ diligenti, perche’ maturano un po’ alla volta, mentre i lamponi maturano abbastanza in contemporanea, quindi il periodo di raccolta e’ limitato.

Non solo frutti di bosco, comunque: a luglio maturano anche le Fragole, che sono prodotti da giardino. Se non si coltivano in serra, il momento della raccolta e’ proprio in questo mese.

Continuando la serie, troviamo le Ciliegie, anch’esse maturano a luglio; il nostro ciliegio quest’anno si e’ dato da fare…ma abbiamo messo una rete per riuscire a mangiarle, altrimenti i merli e i tordi ce le avrebbero rubate. 😉

Infine, troviamo le Fragoline selvatiche, l’Uva spina, il Ribes (rosso e nero) e i primi Finferli: loro sono sempre i primi ad aprire la stagione dei funghi.

July Fruits.

While in Italy in July people enjoy watermelons, sweet apricots and peaches, in Finland in July various berries reach maturity.

For example Raspberries: this year nature has given large quantities of raspberries. These in my photos are wild and therefore smaller than the garden ones, but the flavor and aroma are extraordinary.

Even the first Blueberries have appeared in the undergrowth: they are more user-friendly, because they ripen gradually, while the raspberries ripen quite at the same time, so the harvesting period is limited.

Not only wild berries, however: Strawberries, which are garden products, also ripen in July. If they are not grown in greenhouses, the time of harvest is precisely in this month.

Continuing the series, we find Cherries, which also ripen in July; our cherry tree got busy this year … we covered it with a net to be able to eat them, otherwise blackbirds and thrushes would have stolen them. 😉

Finally we find wild strawberries, Gooseberry, Currants (red and black) and the first Chanterelles: they are always the first to open the mushroom season.
