Il tardo autunno-inverno e’ dura qui in Finlandia per i birdwatchers: molti uccelli sono gia’ migrati verso sud e bisogna accontentarsi di quelli che restano, per fare qualche scatto… ad esempio questo bel fagiano nel mezzo di un campo di stoppie.
Ops!… ma sono due!
Veramente in un giorno umido e frescolino di inizio novembre ne sono atterrati ben sei nel mio giardino: due maschi e quattro femmine. I fagiani non sono certo autoctoni, ma si sono adattati bene qui nella Finlandia meridionale e capita di vederne in giro, anche nelle zone residenziali; in estate non e’ raro sentire i loro richiami.

Oops!… after all, it is two! Pheasants are not native to Finland, but they have adapted and now survive quite well, at least here in the south. You can see them fairly frequently even in urban areas and hear their calls in summer. On a late November gloomy and wet day, six of them landed in my garden: two males and four females.
