Reflections of Kiikala.
Today I’ll take you on a stroll through the forests of Kiikala, a 250 kilometres wide woodland area not far from Somero, in which also a few lakes are lovely located. The area is kept essentially for the production of wood: every 40 years only a sector is cut or pruned to make space to bigger trees.
It is particularly nice to visit this area as it is not densely inhabited and gives the impression of being in a mysterious place! Actually a few cottages are scattered here and there, especially by the lakes, but the general population density is about 7 inhabitants per square km.
The law called Everyman’s Right allows everybody to go there and enjoy the forest fruits: we usually go once per year to collect blueberries and mushrooms.

Buon weekend mia cara!
