Tra Italia e Finlandia

Buona domenica,  cari amici!

Visto che si sta approssimando l’equinozio d’autunno e la stagione estiva si conclude,  vi propongo un piacevole intermezzo musicale che la evoca. 

Si tratta del Kesäillan Valssi,  il  “Valzer di una sera d’estate”  del compositore finlandese Oskar Merikanto (1868-1924).  Merikanto e’ uno degli autori che preferisco nel panorama europeo,  per i suoi valzer gentili e spesso brevi.

As the autumn equinox approaches and the summer season draws to a close,  I am proposing a pleasant musical interlude that evokes it.

It is the Kesäillan Valssi,  the “Summer Evening Waltz” by Finnish composer Oskar Merikanto (1868-1924).  Merikanto is one of my favorite European composers,  for his gentle and often brief waltzes.
