Il Collio e’ una zona della regione Friuli Venezia Giulia situata tra Italia e Slovenia,  a nord della citta’ di Gorizia,  tra il corso del fiume Isonzo ed il fiume Iudrio,  confinando a nord con il territorio della zona delle valli del Natisone.

Il Collio comprende circa 1500 ettari di vigneti,  situati su un territorio collinare molto adatto alla viticoltura,  essendo tra i 60 e i 270 metri di altitudine.

La zona del Collio e’ famosa per i vigneti e la produzione di vini rinomati,  in particolare bianchi:  dal Pinot grigio,  al Friulano (conosciuto anche come Tocai friulano),  al Pinot bianco,  allo Schioppetto,  al Sauvignon…

In questa zona si producono anche vini macerati,  prodotti cioe’ lasciando appassire gli acini prima di mostarli per far si’ che la dolcezza delle uve sia accentuata.  Un esempio sono i vini dolci come la Malvasia.IMG_0338XX (1)IMG_0338XX (9)IMG_0338XX (10)IMG_0338XX (14)IMG_0338XX (16)

In queste ultime foto,  un agriturismo dei tanti presenti nel territorio e una bottiglia di ottimo vino da dessert che abbiamo acquistato in loco:  un Verduzzo.

The Collio.

The Collio is a geographical area of the Friuli Venezia Giulia region located between Italy and Slovenia,  north of the city of Gorizia,  between the course of the Isonzo river and the Iudrio river,  bordering to the north with the territory of the Natisone valley area.

The Collio includes approximately 1500 hectares of vineyards,  located on a hilly area very suitable for wine making,  being between 60 and 270 meters above sea level.

The Collio area is famous for its vineyards and the production of renowned wines,  especially white wines:  from Pinot gris,  to Friulano (also known as Tocai friulano),  to Pinot blanc,  to Schioppetto,  to Sauvignon...

This area also produces ‘orange wines’,  produced by allowing the grapes to dry before squeezing them to ensure that the sweetness of the grapes is fully recovered.  An example are sweet wines such as Malvasia.

In my final shots:  a holiday farm,  as there are many in this area and a local produce – an excellent Verduzzo.

    mi piace il profumo dei vigneti… da pochi anni ne hanno piantati due nella zona dove abito…

  26. Ciao Cinzia e scusa il ritardo nella risposta. Il vino nella foto è un vino da dessert semi-liquoroso, ma ciò che preferisco tra i vini friulani è il Sauvignon. Mio nonno aveva un piccolo vigneto e ci sono cresciuta in mezzo. Buon sabato e grazie di seguirmi con interesse. 👋😊

    Weinanbaugebiete sind von der Sonne verwöhnt und wunderschön.
    Ich trinke nur noch Rotwein, weil ich ihn besser vertrage als Weißwein.

    Ich habe lange Rotwein getrunken, weil mein Großvater einen kleinen Weinberg hatte, aber in letzter Zeit bevorzuge ich leichte Weißweine.
    Ich freue mich, dass du meine Beiträge problemlos übersetzen kannst.

  38. I posted a picture from today in my blog. A Real Italian Restaurante in Lahti, Finland. They serve real Italian food and every Italian preferes it for the food. I never visited the place. It´s probably out of my budget range. But next time you´re around here maybe you wanna check it out. It´s highly recommented from what I heard.
