Con l’ampia offerta di divertimenti e di cibo, il tempo passa veloce su queste navi, tutto sommato. Ci sono buffet a colazione e nel pomeriggio (fungono da pranzo o cena); ci sono bar e ristori per tutti i gusti; a bordo si trovano negozi e duty free. L’offerta di spettacoli e divertimenti non e’ da meno: ci sono caffe’ musicali, un vero e proprio teatro dove si esibiscono gruppi musicali o comici, maghi, prestigiatori, sale da ballo. Ci sono slot-machines e perfino il bingo.
Per finlandesi e svedesi e’ normale, anzi molto praticato, festeggiare anniversari, raduni aziendali, cene pre-natalizie o altre ricorrenze, su queste navi. Ci si imbarca la sera, si cena, si beve, si balla, ci si diverte e poi si va a dormire nella propria cabina. La nave giunge a destinazione il mattino dopo, ma non si scende: si torna indietro verso casa sfruttando la giornata in molte altre maniere.

Navigating #2.
Due to the wide range of entertainment and food options, time passes quickly on board these ships, all things considered. There are buffets for breakfast and afternoon (which serve as lunch or dinner); there are bars and restaurants to suit all tastes; there are shops and duty-free shops on board. The selection of shows and entertainment is equally impressive: there are musical cafés, a full-fledged theater where bands and comedians or magicians perform, and dance halls. There are slot machines and even bingo.
For Finns and Swedes, it is normal, indeed very common, to celebrate anniversaries, business gatherings, pre-Christmas dinners, or other occasions on these ships. We embark in the evening, have dinner, drink, dance, have fun, and then go to sleep in your cabin. The ship arrives at its destination the next morning, but we don’t disembark: we head back home, making the most of the day in many other ways.
