Pinnacles of the “trulli”.        The trulli are worldwide famous:  they are small buildings,  also dwelling places,  dating back to the  XVII century,  typical of the countryside in south Apulia and of the town of Alberobello in particular.  In this post I would like to share with you some images of the pinnacles on top of the trulli roofs:  each one is different,  personalized by the owners.  It is argued that the shapes of the pinnacles refer to ancient esoteric symbols (the cult of the god Sun) or religious (the cross) or again anthropomorphous shapes.

The best season to visit Apulia is spring,  until June;  or,  alternatively,  end of summer.  In full summer the climate may be too hot.

  2. Showed hubby your photos because he is a builder – he thought it was amazing and beautiful work. I think so too! Where is Apulia located (in Italy or Finland?) Many thanks for sharing this amazing architecture with All Seasons, Blog Friend! Enjoy your week:)
