Fra gli animali più facilmente avvistabili nel parco Valle del Menago,  ci son senz’altro le anatre,  per lo più Germani,  ma con qualche interessante incrocio…

Gli uccelli che stazionano in questo parco sono innumerevoli,  ma non sempre visibili a causa della rigogliosa vegetazione:  dalle Cince,  ai Pettirossi,  al Picchio,  agli Aironi,  al Martin Pescatore…  Ci sono anche rapaci,  naturalmente, attratti dall’abbondanza di prede.

Noi abbiamo visto un volatile familiare:  la Ghiandaia,  che vive anche in Finlandia come stanziale.

Una curiosità faunistica a proposito di questo parco,  è che qui vive l’unica specie di tartaruga acquatica autoctona in Italia,  la Emys orbicularis.  Purtroppo però temo che questa nelle mie foto non lo sia…

Menago Park Critters.

The birds that live in this park are innumerable,  but not always visible due to the lush vegetation:  Tits,  Robins,  Woodpeckers,  Herons,  Kingfishers…  There are also birds of prey,  of course,  attracted by the abundance of preys.

We saw a familiar bird:  the Eurasian Jay,  which also lives in Finland as a resident.

A fun fact about this park is that the only native aquatic turtle species in Italy lives here,  the European Pond Turtle (Emys orbicularis).  Unfortunately,  however,  I am not sure it is about this special turtle in my parting shots.

    Der Eichelhäher ist ein häufiger Besucher hier.
    Er liebt Erdnüsse in der Schale 🥜 und packt sich die Backen voll 😅

  11. I like the pictures of the jay. Thanks for sharing. I am not an expert for turtles but I am almost sure this is a version of Trachemys scripta, tartaruga americana. We have the same situation in parks at Vienna: There are still european turtles but most of the turtles you see are invasive americans. I was once at a special zoo for reptiles at Klagenfurt and they have both kinds. Emys orbicularis has a more round shell and yellow dots.
