Tra Italia e Finlandia

Quando trovo nella fototrappola il musetto della volpe sono sempre contenta.  Il suo musetto mi fa sorridere.

CURIOSITA’:  Tre cose sulla Volpe rossa appena sentite in un documentario:  questo animale,  fra i piu’ adattabili al mondo,  possiede vibrisse non solo sul muso ma anche sulle zampe,  che l’aiutano a navigare meglio in qualsiasi condizione di visibilita’;  inoltre sulla coda,  in mezzo al folto pelo,  possiede una ghiandola che emana segnali odoriferi utili a marcare il territorio;  infine la volpe e’ fertile solo tre giorni l’anno,  per cui fa una sola cucciolata l’anno.

I am always glad whenever I find the red fox in my trail-cam.  Its lovely muzzle makes me smile.

A FUN FACT:   Three things about the Red fox just heard in a documentary:  this animal,  among the most adaptable in the world,  has vibrissae not only on its muzzle but also on its legs,  which help it navigate better in any visibility condition;  moreover on the tail,  in the middle of the thick hair,  it has a gland that gives off scent signals,  in order to mark the territory;  finally the fox is fertile only three days a year,  so it will give birth to cubs just once per year.
