Nelle campagne attorno alla città di Verona, come in molti luoghi d’Italia, si coltivano verdure per il mercato nazionale ed estero. Nelle mie foto potete riconoscere: spinaci, insalata, finocchio e…fragole. Nella fattispecie, queste foto sono di fine settembre, quindi le piantine di fragole in fiore che vedete sono destinate a decorare con i loro frutti le nostre tavole autunnali.
La fruttificazione infatti dura fino alla fine di questo mese.
Strawberries for the Fall.
In the countryside just outside the city of Verona, as well as in many parts of Italy, we grow vegetables for the domestic and international markets. In these shots you can recognize spinach, fennel, lettuce and…strawberries. The peculiar aspect in this post is that the shots were taken in late September: therefore the strawberries which are blooming now are going to decorate with their juicy fruits our autumn table.
Strawberries will bear fruit until the end of this month.

Moglie e figlio adorano le fragole, con la panna obviously, ma a me non è che piacciano molto.
Tra i “frutti di bosco” sono quelle che preferisco, tuttavia, perché more mirtilli & co li evito proprio.

Ma sai che non sapevo che ancora ci fosse un luogo qui al nord in cui si coltivassero le fragole? Le ultime che ricordo di aver mangiato mi riportano a giugno, all’inizio dell’estate, grazie mia cara Luisella per avermi insegnato una cosa che non sapevo ancora!
