Un mese nelle mie foto.

 Anche questo ottobre e’ stato piuttosto caldo in Finlandia,  come del resto anche settembre.  Fino a meta’ mese abbiamo goduto di belle giornate con pochissima pioggia e temperature sui 15 gradi pomeridiani,  quando invece solitamente ai primi del mese avevamo le prime gelate notturne.

Le giornate si sono accorciate moltissimo,  specie dopo il cambio dell’ora:  adesso alle 17 e’ decisamente buio.  Per quanto devo dire che a me il cambio dell’ora non da’ fastidio alcuno,  non mi scombussola;  anzi,  qui e’ molto conveniente l’ora solare in inverno,  altrimenti al mattino farebbe chiaro alle 11.00!

Gli uccelli migratori sono ormai partiti tutti:  rimangono solo i cigni,  che attendono finche’ l’acqua dei laghi non sara’ gelata.  Sono anche i primi a rientrare a Marzo.  Fra gli ultimi a partire ci sono i pettirossi:  hanno zampettato nel mio giardino fino a pochi giorni fa.  🙂

Ho trascorso parecchie ore in giardino a rastrellare le ultime foglie cadute dagli alberi che attorniano casa nostra;  un lavoro rilassante,  metodico,  ritmico e del quale si vede il risultato.  Direi che quasi quasi invita alla meditazione…

Purtroppo anche qui il contagio ha ricominciato a correre e il governo ha previsto l’uso delle mascherine all’interno dei locali.  Per ora si tratta di una raccomandazione,  non potendolo imporre perche’ non siamo in stato d’emergenza.  In realta’ le regole cambiano col mutare della situazione:  c’e’ stata una stretta sui bar mentre le scuole funzionano e se ci sono casi,  si chiude solo la classe e non la scuola.  Cari lettori,  adesso e’ il momento di osservare tutti le regole e indossiare la mascherina correttamente:  facciamogliela vedere a questo dannato virus!

I dati sono i seguenti:  positivi in totale 15.378 da Febbraio;  deceduti totali 354;  al momento ricoverati 65,  in terapia intensiva 10.

A month in my photos.

As well as September,  October has been unusually warm here in south Finland.  We enjoyed sunny afternoons with 15C / 59 degrees F.  This is unusual,  as in the beginning of this month the first frosty night should arrive.

Days are dramatically shorter now,  especially after the turning to wintertime again.  Now darkness falls at 5 p.m.  I do not mind turning the clock from summertime to wintertime,  it does not upset my life rhythm;  I am actually quite satisfied with it:  otherwise it would be dark until 11 a.m. in the morning!

Migratory birds have gone:  just swans are still here.  They will wait until lakes are frozen.  They are the first to come back in March.  Robins are among the last to depart from Finland;  a family of them have lingered in my garden as far as a few days ago.  🙂

I have spent several hours raking the leaves fallen from all the trees around our home;  a methodical and rhythmic work which can be even relaxing or help meditation,  for those who are familiar with this practice.  Anyway the result of your work is just under your eyes.

Unfortunately the Coronavirus infection has increased in Finland too,  as well as in Italy.  The Finnish government now recommends using face masks inside places,  but it is not yet compulsory as we are not in state of emergency.  Rules actually change weekly according to the situation;  for instance bars have reduced their working times but schools are open and if there are cases,  just the single class will be closed,  not the entire school.  Dear readers,  please let’s be all careful:  let’s wear masks and observe the rules!  Let’s smack this damned virus down!

Here are the current data:  infected in total since February 15,378;  dead 354;  in hospital at the moment 65;  in intensive care 10.

  5. Che bella la Finlandia! A parere mio è un paese magnifico che viene sottovalutato. Bisognerebbe pubblicizzarlo di più. Spero che questo blog possa far scoprire ai lettori le bellezze di questo paese. Comunque complimenti per il blog 😉

    Lovely mosaic of October images. I loved the lantern plant. It seems Covid is spiking again in the USA, not everyone wants to follow simple rules like wearing a mask. Take care and stay safe! Enjoy your day! Have a great week!

  10. En el Sur de España, que es donde resido yo, las temperaturas son bastante cálidas y en las provincias de interior, el calor del verano es iinaguantable. Si no fuera por el aire acondicionado, no se podrían soportar.
