Ho già detto molte volte di essere amante della bici, ciò non vuol dire che non usi la macchina, ovviamente, ma per diletto e per mentalità propendo sempre per le due ruote, sulle distanze brevi.
Come ben sappiamo, qui nella pianura Padana spesso in occasione di tempo soleggiato con alta pressione e mancanza di vento, il traffico viene bloccato nelle città la domenica per tentare di arginare l’accumulo di polveri sottili nell’aria.
Comunque questo non e’ tanto un post ambientalista, quanto un’ode alla bicicletta, che su di me ha poteri taumaturgici; inoltre mi sento di dare un suggerimento a tutti i ciclisti amatoriali come me: fatevi applicare sul manubrio uno specchietto retrovisore, e’ di grande utilita’.
Vi lascio con l’inno a questo mezzo di trasporto forse più conosciuto: la canzone dei Queen “Bicycle race”.

Sundays without Cars.
In northern Italy, in the Po Valley where I live, sometimes levels of pollution in the air are quite high due to a lot of industrial sites and high density of population, so that the municipalities decide to stop car traffic on Sundays, especially when weather is stable with high pressure, sunshine and no wind, to try to lower particulates levels.
As I already told I am fond of biking: of course I use also the car, but both for fun and for my own convenience, I choose the bike more willingly when I have to cover short distances. To me the bike is even thaumaturgical.
I dare to give all amateur bikers, as I am, an advice: get a rearview mirror on your bike! It is very useful. However this post is just an ode to the bicycle, does not imply any environmental clues.
So let me praise this means of transportation! I’ll share with you today the most famous hymn to bike-riding: the Queen’s “Bicycle race”.

Ciao! Anche io bicicletto molto volentieri. Più in montagna che qui a Roma, anche se fra le poche cose buone fatte dai due ultimi poco amati sindaci ci sono le piste ciclabili. L’idea dello specchietto retrovisore non è male. Mi sa che seguirò il tuo consiglio

I think it’s easier to ride a bike for enjoyment and even necessity to get from one place to another when the land is flat. Here in our hilly county and city it’s a real challenge! Yorkshire is well known for bicycle racing as it is in Italy. When I was a young mother I would bike around with my child in a seat on the back. Those were the days!
