Seagulls and Cormorants. Both seagulls and cormorants (Phalacrocorax carbo) are very frequently viewed at lake Garda, nowadays. In the past I thought cormorants were sea birds, but I have found out that they can eat fresh waters fish as well. I have also discovered that their feathers are not waterproof, so they must spend time sitting in the sunlight to dry them up; for this reason it is not uncommon to see them on top of poles with open wings: who hasn’t met them in the Venetian Lagoon?

Buona serata

Wonderful photos! I’ve always considered cormorants as sea birds as well. Interesting to see them on a lake.

Great shots of the cormorant! We see cormorants here quite often, and we don’t live near the sea.

The black bird is obviously the King:) (sorry don’t know the English name for this bird. And the meek gull being the patient butler:)
Smile, there is an advantage imagining thing when not exactly understanding one or the other language (not your fault – google is very literal, which sometimes makes for strange sentences). Many thanks for sharing these interesting moments and positioning of the black one with All Seasons – beautiful captures! A lovely week to you!

Belli? No. Interessanti? Certamente. 😀

Ciao cara!
