I finlandesi amano leggere i giornali a colazione ed e’ molto diffusa l’abitudine all’abbonamento ai quotidiani, che vengono recapitati verso le 03.00 del mattino. Contrariamente a quello che facciamo noi italiani, non escono per andare in edicola, date anche le lunghe distanze. Nelle foto il quotidiano nazionale Helsingin Sanomat, “Il giornale di Helsinki” che è il piu’ diffuso, e alcune testate locali.
Va detto che la Finlandia e’ uno dei Paesi ai primi posti nelle classifiche internazionali sugli indici di lettura dei quotidiani: il 67% delle famiglie ha un abbonamento ad un giornale e il 62% ad una rivista. Anche la lettura delle notizie online e’ molto popolare, tramite abbonamento digitale. Ma quello che vorrei chiarire soprattutto e’ che uomini e donne leggono nella stessa proporzione. Una curiosità: la prima pagina dei giornali è dedicata alla pubblicità. I titoli iniziano solo dalla seconda.

Naturalmente i giornali sono in vendita regolarmente nei centri commerciali, negli ipermercati e in piccoli negozi multigenere denominati: “R kioski”.

In Finland it is usual to read newspapers at breakfast and people have them delivered home. They do not visit the newsagents’ daily as we do in Italy, also due to the long distances. In the photos, the major Finnish newspaper: the Helsingin Sanomat, the “Helsinki Journal”, and a few local issues. Another different aspect with Italian style is that the first page is usually occupied by ads. In the newspapers of Salo area and Somero town, for example, you can find local news and the people can communicate with the sheet itself by mail or even text messages.
Finland ranks very high in international readership classifications: 67% of families have a subscription to a newspaper and 62% to a magazine. Subscriptions to online news are very popular as well. What I would like to point out especially is that men and women read in the same proportion.
Newspapers are regularly sold in shopping centres, bigger markets and in a chain of small convenience stores called: “R kioski”.

Tra Italia e Finlandia 
Hello, we stopped receiving the paper newspapers. We read most of our news on the internet. All the local papers are on the internet. I know a lot of people like the hold the paper and books in their but I enjoy the techie way of reading. Happy Tuesday, enjoy your day and the week ahead!

Here we also get newspapers delivered to home, which is good, because I am used to that from Finland:) On weekends I like to start my morning with the newspaper and a cup of coffee:)
