Turku Art Museum.

Questo post vuol rendere maggiormente nota la citta’ di Turku, che non e’ solo bella e storica, con il suo lungofiume, la piazza del duomo, i giardini e i parchi, il castello, i caffe’, il mercato coperto, il porto trafficato, gli edifici in stile, ma anche culturalmente molto vivace. Ci sono sempre eventi teatrali, musicali, museali…

Noi abbiamo visitato di recente questa piacevole mostra fotografica dedicata a Robert Doisneau, l’autore di una serie di famosi baci, tenutasi al Museo d’arte. Non potendo, per ovvi motivi, dare conto della mostra, ho fotografato aspetti del museo; un palazzo in stile National Romantic, costruito con roccia granitica locale e ultimato nel 1904, che da solo vale la visita.

L’originale maniglia della porta d’entrata e’ copia di una scultura conservata all’interno.

I fregi delle stanze e i vetri del lucernario sono tutti in stile.

Le architravi, alcune in muratura, alcune in legno e le porte sono elegantemente lavorate.

This post is to disclose the city of Turku a little more. Turku is a beautiful and historical place: with its castle, its dome, parks and gardens, the old market-hall, the Aura riverside, the large busy harbour, cafes and shopping possibilities; but so much more than that, it is culturally quite lively: there are always musical and theatrical events or art exibitions.

We enjoyed visiting this one, held in the art museum, dedicated to the French photographer Robert Doisneau, famous also for his series of kisses. Of course it was interesting, but forbidden to take pictures of the exibition itself, so I will here share the museum: a National Romantic style premise, built with local granite stone and opened in 1904.

The tiger sculpture is an original door handle. The ceilings, architraves, skylight glasses, doors and staircase balustrades are all stylishly wrought. All in all, the premise in itself is worthy a visit.
