Una panchina azzurra.

Nel piccolo parco di Povegliano Veronese,  l’associazione A.N.I.Ma.S.S.  ha collocato una panchina azzurra,  dedicata in particolare alle donne.

La panchina infatti ci parla della malattia chiamata “Sindrome di Sjögren”,  una malattia autoimmune che colpisce in prevalenza il genere femminile,  in particolare fra i 30 e i 50 anni,  con un rapporto maschi femmine di 1:20.  (Fonte:  Humanitas).

Nell’augurare Buon 8 Marzo a tutte le donne,   auspico che il sistema sanitario e la ricerca facciano progressi nella cura delle malattie che colpiscono le donne in particolare.

A Light Blue Bench.

In the small park in Povegliano Veronese,  the A.N.I.Ma.S.S. association has placed a light blue bench,  dedicated especially to women.

The bench reminds us about the disease called “Sjögren’s Syndrome,”  an autoimmune disease that predominantly affects women,  especially between the ages of 30 and 50,  with a male-to-female ratio of 1:20.  (Source: Humanitas).

In wishing all women a Happy March 8th,  I hope that the healthcare system and research will make progress in treating diseases that affect women in particular.

Mortality rate for prostate cancer is around 5-10 per 100,000 men worldwide, whereas mortality rate for cervical cancer is about 3-6 per 100,000 women.
