Alla felicita’!

Felice domenica a tutti!

Il 20 marzo scorso e’ stata la Giornata Mondiale della Felicita’,  indetta dalle Nazioni Unite e a partire dal 2012 viene pubblicato un sondaggio a livello mondiale per stabilire quale Paese si sente piu’ felice.  Anche quest’anno,  per l’ottava volta di seguito,  la Finlandia si e’ classificata al primo posto,  seguita da altri Paesi tutti scandinavi.

E’ difficile dire perche’ i finlandesi si sentano felici,  ma sicuramente ha a che fare con la coesione sociale,  la fiducia nel prossimo e nelle istituzioni,  il fatto che i servizi funzionino,  il fatto che si seguano le regole del vivere civile e si rispettino le leggi,  il basso tasso di criminalita’ e non ultima la presenza prepotente della natura,  che scioglie le tensioni.  Se glielo chiedete,  comunque,  i finlandesi vi diranno che loro praticano il “sisu”,  quella forza interiore,  quella resilienza,  che aiuta a superare i momenti difficili.

Aggiungo solo un particolare significativo:  qui la domanda del sondaggio e’ stata posta a tutti,  finlandesi nativi,  expat e perfino richiedenti asilo;  in alcuni Paesi citati nel sondaggio,  la domanda e’ stata posta solo agli abitanti indigeni.  (Fonte:  YLE).

Allora per augurare a tutti una felice domenica e per brindare alla felicita’ degli scandinavi,  vi propongo un brano effervescente,  che ci riporta agli anni ’80,  che sono stati senz’altro effervescenti,  ricchi di vita e spensieratezza,  almeno per la mia generazione e in Italia.

Si tratta di “Club Tropicana” dei Wham!  Ho scelto il video ufficiale,  al termine del quale si scopre che i cantanti sono in realta’ due piloti della compagnia charter tedesca LTU,  che in quegli anni faceva praticamente la spola tra le isole Baleari e la Germania.  Ho un ricordo personale riguardo alla LTU operante su Verona negli anni ’90.

Happy Sunday everyone!

Last March 20th was World Happiness Day,  declared by the United Nations,  and since 2012 a global survey has been published to determine which country feels happiest.  This year too,  for the eighth time in a row,  Finland ranked first,  followed by other Scandinavian countries.

It is difficult to say why Finns feel happy,  but it certainly has to do with social cohesion,  trust in others and in institutions,  the fact that services work,  the fact that everyone follows the rules of good living and observe laws,  the low crime rate and the overbearing presence of nature,  which soothes anxiety.  If you ask them,  however,  Finns will tell you that they practice “sisu”:   the inner strength,  the special resilience,  which helps overcome difficult times.

I will add just one significant detail:  here in Finland the survey question was asked to everyone,  native Finns,  expats and even asylum seekers;  in some countries mentioned in the survey,  the question was asked only to the indigenous inhabitants. (Source: YLE).

So in order to wish everyone a happy Sunday and to toast the happiness of the Scandinavians,  I propose a sparkling song,  which takes us back to the 80s,  which were certainly sparkling years,  full of life and lightheartedness,  at least for my generation in Italy.

The song is “Club Tropicana” by Wham!   I chose the official video,  at the end of which you discover that the singers are actually two pilots of the German charter company LTU,  which in those years practically shuttled between the Balearic Islands and Germany.  I have a personal memory regarding the LTU operating in Verona in the 90s.

  32. Io ho sempre avuto l’idea, o l’impressione, che le popolazioni del Nord Europa fossero generalmente “più felici”, sulla base di uno stile di vita differente e per il legame con la natura.
    Tuttavia le statistiche sui suicidi sembrano smentire tutto ciò, con percentuali molto maggiori rispetto al resto d’Europa.

    Forse il Paese in questo momento più “felice” potrebbe essere la Nuova Zelanda.

  33. In realtà quantificare la felicità è impossibile. Le statistiche sui suicidi dipendono da molti fattori, come ho detto in altri contesti, ad esempio dalla poca religiosità. Chi meno crede, più è esposto alla disperazione.

  35. Posso confermare certamente che qui c’è un legame sociale solido, le persone si fidano l’una dell’altra e ciò le rende felici. Non hanno la mentalità di fregare il prossimo o lo stato. Un esempio: quando si guida, ci si fida degli altri automobilisti, poiché si sa perfettamente come si comportano…secondo le regole.

  36. potessi estirpare la mentalità di fregare anche solo un poco !!! Io invece, quando guido alle olte osservando un guidatore alle prese con mirabolanti manovre astute di sorpasso causa “fretta importante” penso, “e adesso chissà cosa farà!!!” 🖖🖖🙂🖖🖖
