Cigni in sorvolo.

Un giorno di inizio inverno,  con tanto sole ma anche qualche grosso nuvolone ben schierato all’orizzonte,  ho fotografato questo paesaggio.

I puntini bianchi che vedete in cielo sopra le case e i fienili sono gli ultimi Cigni canori rimasti in Finlandia.  Appena i nostri 168.000 laghi geleranno e non si potra’ piu’ pescare,  anche loro si sposteranno verso sud.

Ma che bello vederli sorvolare la propria casa in inverno!

Overflying Swans.

One day at the beginning of winter,  with bright sunshine but also some large clouds lined up on the horizon,  I photographed this landscape.

The white dots you see in the sky above houses and barns are the last remaining Singing Swans in Finland.  As soon as all our 168,000 lakes freeze and fishing is no longer possible,  they too will move south.

How awesome to see them flying over one’s house in winter!
