Buona domenica,  cari lettori!

Oggi condivido con voi un pezzo d’Opera molto dolce,  che mi è familiare.  Si tratta della romanza “Caro nome”,  tratta dall’opera lirica di Giuseppe Verdi:  Rigoletto.

Nell’opera la romanza viene dedicata al Duca di Mantova,  imbroglione e seduttore,  dall’ingenua Gilda,  figlia di Rigoletto.

Io invece dedico questo post e la bellissima romanza a mio marito Risto,  perchè quest’anno festeggiamo 30 anni insieme,  di cui 20 di matrimonio.

Ho scelto una delicata interpretazione di Maria Callas.

Today I will share with you a very sweet Opera tune,  which is familiar to me.

This is the romanza “Caro nome” (“Dear Name”),  taken from Giuseppe Verdi’s opera:  Rigoletto.

In the opera,  the romanza is dedicated to the Duke of Mantua,  a trickster and seducer,  by young and naïve Gilda,  Rigoletto’s daughter.

I will instead dedicate this post and the beautiful romanza to my husband Risto,  because this year we are celebrating 30 years together,  of which 20 as a married couple.

I chose a delicate interpretation by Maria Callas.

    non conoscevo questa interpretazione…
    Maria Callas era soprannominata “la Divina”… lei sapeva produrre melodia… è resterà sempre una grande soprano drammatico…

  33. Sometimes when you are posting about food or music, I try not to read the English first, and see how much I can make out just with context. I got quite a bit of this right off. And, oh my, no one has a voice quite like Callas had. 😉
