Buona domenica #15.

Buona domenica a tutti,  cari lettori!

“Turn To Stone”.

Buon ascolto!  www.youtube.com/watch?v=kXpjF1qtpt0

Happy Sunday to you all, dear readers!

Today I will share with you a song directly from the 70s: the band is the ELO (Electric Light Orchestra),  whose founder is great songwriter and producer Jeff Lynne.  Their approach to pop music is creative and original as it blends classic hints (for example the use of violins),  rock and electronic.

The song I chose is the iconic “Turn To Stone”.  I chose a live video,  because the futuristic scenery was an important part of  the ELO performance.

Given the song title,  I will share a couple of shots of glacial erratic,  still with us since the ice ages.

Enjoy it!  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kXpjF1qtpt0

The city streets are empty now
(The lights don’t shine no more)
And so the songs are way down low
A sound that flows into my mind
(The echoes of the daylight)
Of everything that is alive
(In my blue world)
I turn to stone when you are gone
I turn to stone
I turn to stone, when you comin’ home
I can’t go on
The dying embers of a night
(A fire that slowly fades ‘till dawn)
Still glow upon the wall so bright (turning, turning)
The tired streets that hide away
(From here to everywhere they go)
Roll past my door into the day
In my blue world
I turn to stone when you are gone
I turn to stone
I turn to stone, when you comin’ home
I can’t go on
Turn to stone when you are gone
I turn to stone
Yes, I’m turnin’ to stone
‘Cause you ain’t coming home
Why ain’t you comin’ home
