Neve d’aprile.

A fine aprile abbiamo avuto la sorpresa di svegliarci un paio di mattine con il panorama imbiancato da leggere nevicate. Per fortuna gli uccellini appena arrivati dal caldo sud hanno trovato da noi cibo in abbondanza ed una spessa siepe dove ripararsi. Niente di strano: quando l’aria tira da nord qui il tempo cambia in fretta. La neve si e’ poi sciolta in poche ore.

Nelle foto sopra il Pettirosso, qui sotto il Fringuello e una coppia di Cardellini.

Il tenero Lucherino si e’ subito precipitato a rimpinzarsi dopo il lungo viaggio.

La Passera scopaiola non si nota molto, a causa dei suoi colori spenti.

La Peppola, invece, lei…e’ una dura! Snobba le lande del sud Fiinlandia e vola direttamente in Lapponia. Ha! 🙂

Persino i Crocus si sono…chiusi in se stessi.

Lui lo conoscete bene: la neve non lo ha disturbato molto…

E a dire il vero nemmeno lei ci ha fatto caso: e’ sempre con noi, anche se la vediamo di rado…

April Snow.

At the end of April we were surprised a few mornings with light snowfalls. The landscape was total white: luckily it melted in a few hours. Nothing strange: we are very north and the weather changes quickly.

The migratory birds just arrived from the warm south found enough food in our garden and a thick spruce fence where to take refuge.

In my shots: the European Robin, the Chaffinch, two European goldfinches.

The tiny Eurasian Siskin is hungry, after the long journey.

The Dunnock, less visible on cloudy days, due to its dull plumage.

The Brambling is a tough bird! He will just transit here: his final destination is Lapland. Ha! 😉

Squirrels were not surprised, instead, but still they took advantage of our feeders.

Finally the Red fox: it is always with us, even though it does not show… 😉
