Lunch at the Department Stores.       Dear readers,  today I’d like to suggest a place to eat when you are in the midlle of a busy shopping day and you would like to find a nice place with a good choice and reasonable prices.

In case you are in a bigger town in Finland,  as Helsinki,  Turku or Tampere for instance,  my advice is to try the Stockmann department stores cafeteria-restaurant.  Stockmann is the most famous department store in Finland,  founded in 1862.  At Stockmann’s you will find many shopping opportunities:  quality and design goods in the clothing sections for man and woman;  food marked equipped with international specialities,  children’s department,  fashion accessories,  perfumery and my favourite:  the household department.  In the cafeteria you can choose a buffet meal or a dish from the menu.   In my shots:  the Stockmann Turku lunch place,  overlooking the small Hansakortteli shopping mall.

Risto and I usually have the so-called:  “Keittomenu”,  a bowl of soup (there are always two soups to choose) accompanied by bread,  croutons,  various seeds and a bowl of salad.  Here in Finland coffee is usually included in your meal and it is often offered with biscuits or small pastries.

  1. Stockmann is THE department store in Helsinki. A pity that their business is not going so smoothly at the moment. Hope they can renew – wonderful photos!

  3. The “keittomenu” with salads would be surely my favourite too. 🙂
I have bought some nice things, for example shoes and a bag recently, from Stockmann online store.
It’s good that we who live far from everything have that option. 😀
    xx
