Finnish “piadina”.
The Italian piadina is a very basic type of bread, made roughly with wheat flour, water, salt and some fat, mostly oil. It is simple in ingredients and procedure, so it is not uncommon to find something similar in other countries in the world: for instance the Mexican wheat tortillas or even the Indian Chapati bread. Now I will come to the point: we have a type of bread quite close to piadina also here in Finland, it differs only in the flour used; this is made with barley.
Its name is: rieska and it consists of wheat and barley together, oil, salt and water. Its taste is suitable for accompanying whatever you like; in my photos: our usual breakfast with toasted rieska, butter and jam (strawberry jam made by myself with our own strawberries). We usually drink filter coffee.
Rieska is usually quite thin, but it can be found in different dimensions and made with other flours, for instance wheat and potatoes.
Today’s fun fact: also in Finland people prefer to buy local produce made with locally sourced raw materials. In my last shot you see the emblem of the swan and flag meaning: made in Finland with ingredients grown on the Finnish soil.

Your rieska looks so good with that home made strawberry jam and butter. We always try to cook with real ingredients. Simply hate factory food that has been processed until it is dead.
