PICT0055PICT0051PICT0119PICT0116Spesso,  anzi regolarmente,  le lepri si muovono col favore del buio per cercare cibo.  In inverno ci riescono bene,  perche’ il buio non manca,  in estate e’ un po’ piu’ difficile.  😉

Al mattino nel nostro giardino ci sono immancabilmente nuove impronte di questi graziosi animali:  vengono a mangiucchiare i semi che gli uccellini hanno lasciato cadere,  ma se trovano anche altro,  non fanno complimenti.

Ad esempio,  a loro piacerebbe infilare i dentoni nelle tenere cortecce di giovani alberi da frutto come meli,  prugni,  ma anche maggiociondoli e altre piante da fiore.  Per cui e’ buona precauzione proteggere le piante con una rete,  come vedete nella foto seguente.

Nighttime Hares.

Often,  indeed regularly,  hares move in the dark to look for food.  In winter it is easy,  because days are so short, in summer it is a bit more difficult. 😉

In the morning in our garden there are invariably new footprints of these graceful animals:  they come to nibble on the seeds that the birds have dropped,  but if they find anything else,  they take the chance too

For example,  they’d like to stick their teeth into the tender bark of young fruit trees such as apple,  plum,  and/or even flowering plants like Laburnum.  So it is recommendable to protect the plants with a net,  as you can see in the
