Un mercatino innevato (part 1).

Ebbene si,  cari lettori,  questo dicembre e’ notevolmente piu’ nevoso del solito.  Il meteo ci ha regalato una spruzzatina ogni tanto,  ma a meta’ mese siamo gia’ arrivati ad un deposito di 30cm,  perche’ le temperature si sono sempre mantenute costantemente sotto lo zero e la neve caduta non si e’ mai sciolta,  contrariamente a cio’ cui eravamo abituati.

Nel mio post di oggi vi porto nella cittadina di Lohja,  che si trova leggermente piu’ a sud-est di Somero.  Sabato 10 dicembre ha nevicato parecchio e domenica 11 noi siamo andati a deliziarci al mercatino di Natale,  dove abbiamo visto questo paesaggio meraviglioso.

Certamente gli abitanti di Lohja ricorderanno questo mercatino come il piu’ innevato degli ultimi decenni.

CURIOSITA’:   I mercatini natalizi delle piccole cittadine sono itineranti:  cioe’ vengono organizzati ogni weekend in una localita’ diversa.  A Lohja erano solo in quel weekend.  Questo perche’ comunque la Finlandia e’ abitata da solo 5 milioni e mezzo di persone:  commercialmente una platea ristretta.

Qui sotto altre vedute piu’ uniche che rare:  tutto e’ totalmente ricoperto di neve.

A Snowy Market  (part 1).

Well yes,  dear readers,  this December is a lot snowier than usual.  We have been given a dusting every now and then,  but in the middle of the month we have already reached a good 30cm on ground,  because temperatures have always remained constantly below zero and the snow that has fallen has never melted,  quite opposite to what we were used to.

In my post today,  I will take you to the town of Lohja,  which is located slightly southeast of Somero.  It snowed a lot on Saturday 10th December and on Sunday 11th we went to enjoy the Christmas market,  where we saw this wonderful landscape.

Certainly the inhabitants of Lohja will remember this market as the snowiest in decades.

A FUN FACT:   The Christmas markets of small towns are itinerant:  that is,  they are organized every weekend in a different location.  In Lohja they took place only on that weekend.  Understandably,  this is because Finland is inhabited by only 5 and a half million people:  commercially a limited audience.
