La coppietta carinissima che vi propongo oggi e’ quella formata da due Stiaccini.
Lo Stiaccino (Saxicola rubetra), e’ un piccolo e grazioso uccellino molto diffuso in Europa e nell’Asia occidentale che trascorre l’estate qui in Finlandia e l’inverno invece nel caldo clima dell’Africa. Io li ritrovo tutte le estati; stanno preferibilmente presso i prati nutrendosi di larve, mosche e ragnetti, ma il loro posatoio preferito sono le sommita’ di ramaglie o rami o arbusti, da dove pigliano gli insetti anche al volo.
Come vedete, la differenza nel piumaggio fra il maschio e la femmina e’ marcata.
In finlandese si chiama: Pensastasku, dove “pensas” vuol dire proprio “arbusto”.

Dear readers, the cute couple I will share with you today is a couple of Whinchats.
The Whinchat (Saxicola rubetra), is a small and graceful bird very common in Europe and western Asia that spends the summer here in Finland and the winter in the warm climate of Africa.
It is nice for me to see the Whinchats again and again every summer. They preferably stay near the meadows feeding on larvae, flies and small spiders, but their preferred place to perch are the tops of twigs, branches or shrubs, from where they catch insects, also on the fly.
As you can see, the difference in plumage between the male and the female is evident.
In Finnish it is called: Pensastasku, and “pensas” means “shrub”.
