Happy Easter!

Fra le molte foto a soggetto Pasquale,  ho scelto la piu’ realistica:  la vista da una delle nostre finestre.  In quest’anno cosi’ ricco di precipitazioni nevose,  questo e’ il panorama che vediamo al momento.  L’enorme accumulo di neve e’ dovuto anche a quella caduta dal tetto.  Gli arbusti che vedete sono le nostre povere Rose di San Giovanni.

CURIOSITA’:  Il Venerdi’ Santo qui e’ festivo,  per cui i finlandesi hanno sempre quattro bei giorni liberi,  senza prendere ferie;  si chiama:  Pitkäperjantai,  cioe’ “Venerdi’ lungo”,  in riferimento alla Passione di Cristo.  La Pasqua viene festeggiata in famiglia o nelle seconde case.

Among the many photos with Easter subject,  I chose the most realistic:  the view from one of our windows.  In this year so rich in snowfalls,  this is the panorama we are seeing at the moment.  The huge pile is the result of the snow fallen from the roof as well.  The shrubs you see are our poor St. John’s Roses.

A FUN FACT:  Good Friday is a public holiday here,  so the Finns always have four good days off;  it is called:  Pitkäperjantai,  that is “Long Friday”,  in reference to the Passion of Christ.  Easter is a family celebration,  at home or in one’s own holiday cottage.
