Prime uscite.

E dove potevo andare io?…  Naturalmente in campagna!

First time out.

Last May 4th was the first day when we could move out of our homes after the lockdown declared on March 11th – at least in my region:  Veneto.  Where on earth would I go?  Of course to the countryside!  I took a walk and here’s what I saw:  trees were full of fresh new,  gorgeous,  green leaves and animals were enjoying the good season.   May it be a good new start for all!

The beautiful Speckled wood butterfly  (Pararge aegeria) is basking in the sunlight on a large leaf…

While another cute and small butterfly is sucking nectar from a white Mock orange flower  (Philadelphus)…

Along the ditches the Yellow irises  (Iris pseudacorus) are dazed by the many water insects flying around…

Frogs are chanting aloud and noisily…

In all this,  poppies give wonderful splashes of red to the landscape.  In their simplicity,  they are alluring and charming.

  1. Anch’io voglio!!!!!

  5. You deserved such a beautiful walk in nature. The little skipper butterfly always reminds me of my childhood. My best friend had a fence covered in lantana flowers that they loved to feed on. I didn’t realize where you were located in Italy. Your lockdown must have been more severe than ours here in Washington in the States. We could always go out to walk which has been a blessing. I’m glad there has been an ease with the disease for your country. – Margy

  6. The lockdown here in Italy was long: from March 11th to May 4th. Luckily I have a garden and courtyard where I went for some fitness daily. Now life starts to feel different: let’s hope it is not a false start!! Have a nice evening, Margy.
