Si chiamava così,  Black Waves,  cioè Onde nere,  la prima parte dell’installazione artistica “Massless” elaborata dal gruppo internazionale Team Lab,  che ha aperto ufficialmente il nuovo museo Amos Rex a Helsinki nell’estate 2018.  Si trattava di una proiezione sulle pareti tecnologicamente attrezzate del museo,  di una serie di onde digitali,  che poi erano le onde del mare naturalmente,  ma totalmente ricreate con effetti di luci e suoni.  Vi propongo le foto che ho scattato;  il video invece viene dal sito di Team Lab.

Il gruppo di artisti che si fa chiamare Team Lab ed è autore di questa suggestiva installazione,  è una vera e propria collettiva d’arte internazionale e interdisciplinare:  vi sono artisti,  programmatori,  ingegneri,  matematici e architetti.  La loro creatività vuole navigare alla confluenza di arte,  scienza,  tecnologia e natura.  Il loro scopo è l’esplorazione della relazione tra l’animo umano e il mondo naturale,  attraverso le nuove forme dell’arte.  (Fonte:  www.teamlab.art/e/amosrex )

In quest’ultima foto:  il giornale HS tenta di dare un’idea del successo travolgente che l’installazione Massless ha avuto a Helsinki;   noi stessi siamo andati a novembre,  in un giorno e in un orario poco frequentato ed abbiamo fatto una coda di 20 minuti.

Black Waves.         

This was the title of the first part of the wonderful light installation titled “Massless”,  which opened the new Amos Rex Museum in Helsinki in summer 2018.  Elaborated by art collective Team Lab,  the installation projected a series of waves onto the technologically structured walls of the museum,  identical to sea waves but totally digital,  recreated in a series of light and sound effects.  Of course I took shots;  the video comes from the Team Lab website,  instead.

Who are Team Lab?  They are actually a group of various specialists such as artists,  programmers,  engineers,  mathematicians and architects,  whose practice wants to navigate the confluence of art,  science,  technology and nature.

Their aim is to explore the relationship between the self and the world through the newest forms of art.  (Source:  www.teamlab.art/e/amosrex)

Hope you enjoyed the show.  

In the last shot:  a page of HS,  the Finnish main newspaper,  trying to give an idea of how successful the installation was;  we had to queue up “just” twenty minutes on a November weekday.

  15. Ciao cara, siamo in Italia, in clausura nella nostra casa di VR. Per fortuna abbiamo un giardino ed un cortile -solo nostro- dove fare giardinaggio e prendere un po’ d’aria. Il morbo è arrivato anche in Finlandia e hanno chiuso tutto anche là… 😦

  29. Meraviglioso!!!! Chissà se quelli di TeamLab si dedicheranno anche all’Italia, un giorno.
    Un’installazione di questo genere, credo che verrebbe davvero apprezzata!! 🙂
