Insalata tricolore.

In estate mi piace preparare per contorno qualche appetitosa insalata mescolando frutta e verdura,  come fanno qui in Finlandia:  quella di oggi e’ a base di lattuga e spinaci,  melone bianco,  pomodori e qualche fragola.  Il condimento e’:  olio EVO,  aceto balsamico,  menta disidratata (quando non ho quella fresca),  sale e pepe (se piace).  Un gusto reso dolce dal melone,  decisamente estivo,  rinfrescante e… tricolore!

Per chi avesse curiosita’ sul tempo:  in questo periodo sulla Finlandia staziona un’estesa area di alta pressione,  con sole e caldo ovunque.   Questa settimana e’ stata registrata la temperatura record dell’anno:  30.2 gradi C a Utsjoki…nell’estremo nord della Lapponia!

Tricoloured salad.       When I prepare salads as a side-dish for dinner,  which happens very often in summer,  I like to mix lettuce and fruits:  today’s idea consists of white melon,  lettuce with spinach,  tomatoes and a few strawberries.  I usually dress my salads with extra-virgin olive oil,  balsamico vinegar,  salt,  pepper and dried mint.  A fresh and sweet taste,  appetizing and…tricolour!

For those of you who wonder about weather in Finland in this moment: we are in a hot bubble with sunny days and no precipitations;  last week we reached this year’s record temperature in Utsjoki,  in northern Lapland:  30.2 degrees C.
