Buona domenica, cari lettori!

Come vi avevo avvisato, per i nostri appuntamenti musicali delle domeniche natalizie ho selezionato solo motivetti natalizi non tradizionali.

Siccome siamo ancora nel tempo di Natale, che in Finlandia si conclude il 13 gennaio tradizionalmente, ascoltiamo anche oggi un brano a tema.

Oggi vi propongo “Blue Christmas”, composta alla fine degli anni ’40 ma resa iconica dall’interpretazione di Elvis Presley nel 1957, che ne fece un pilastro del rock-and-roll pur nella sua accezione natalizia.

As I told you, for our musical appointments on Christmas time Sundays I have selected only non-traditional Christmas tunes.

Since we are still in the Christmas season, which in Finland traditionally ends on January 13th, today we will again listen to a Christmas-themed song.

Today I will share with you “Blue Christmas”, composed in the late 1940s but transformed into a real iconic pillar of rock-and-roll by Elvis Presley’s performance in 1957. Its Christmas meaning, though, remains intact.
