Una rarita’ #2.

Continuiamo ad esplorare l’Automuseo di Perniö,  che e’ anche Mercatino dell’usato.

Fra i cimeli,  una pubblicita’ di Nokia,  di quando era ancora una fabbrica di pneumatici e articoli in gomma,  prima di darsi alla telefonia mobile.

Ed ecco finalmente la rarita’ per me piu’ significativa del museo:

Si tratta di un mezzo usato per il rifornimento di acqua potabile agli aerei.  Ovviamente e’ significativo per me che sono una ex aeroportuale e ho visto da vicino e convissuto con questo tipo di mezzi sul piazzale aeromobili di Verona.

L’acqua potabile viene fornita agli aerei anche oggi con cisterne simili a questa durante il transito a terra,  assieme al carburante e al catering.  L’acqua potabile serve a bordo ad esempio per preparare le bevande calde.

Questo reperto risale probabilmente ai primi anni della moderna aviazione civile:  si legge ancora sul fianco la scritta FINNAIR.

A Rarity  #2. 

We will continue exploring the Perniö Car Museum,  which also serves as a second-hand market.

Among the memorabilia,  a Nokia advertisement from when it was still a tire and rubber goods factory,  before moving into mobile telephony.

And here is finally the most meaningful rarity for me.

This is a vehicle used to supply aircraft with drinking water.  It’s obviously significant for me,  as a former airport worker who has seen and lived with this type of vehicles up close on the Verona apron.

Drinking water is still supplied to aircraft today by tanks similar to this one during transit on the ground,  along with fuel and catering.  Drinking water is used on board,  for example,  to prepare hot drinks.

This artifact likely dates back to the early years of modern civil aviation:  the FINNAIR logo can still be seen on the side.
