Buongiorno lettori!  Venite con me in giro per Tallinn a Natale?  Chissa’ quali begli scorci vedremo…

Tallinn e’ la capitale del piccolo stato dell’Estonia,  una delle tre cosiddette Repubbliche Baltiche che avendo ottenuto l’indipendenza nei primi anni ’90 dal giogo sovietico,  sotto il quale hanno sofferto repressione e deportazioni,  hanno immediatamente aderito all’Unione Europea.  Grazie anche agli aiuti ricevuti,  l’Estonia ha migliorato notevolmente la propria economia e il tenore di vita,  modernizzando strutture e servizi.

Che differenza dalla mia prima visita che risale al 1996!  Tallin si e’ trasformata in una citta’ moderna.  Il fiore all’occhiello e’ la Citta’ Vecchia:  ripulita e restaurata,  oggi e’ anche piu’ sicura.  Le foto di questo post sono state tutte scattate nei suoi vicoli.

Walking around Tallinn,  at Christmas.

Good morning readers!  Are you coming with me to tour Tallinn at Christmas?  Who knows what beautiful views we will see…

Tallinn is the capital of the small state of Estonia,  one of the three so-called Baltic Republics that,  having gained independence in the early 90s from the Soviet yoke,  under which they suffered repression and deportations,  immediately joined the European Union.  Also thanks to the aid received,  Estonia has significantly improved its economy and living standard,  modernizing facilities and services.

What a difference from my first visit in 1996!  Tallinn has transformed into a modern city.  The jewel in the crown is the Old Town:  cleaned up and renovated,  it is now even safer.  The photos in this post were all taken in its streets.
