Il lago di Liesjärvi (che avete gia’ incontrato nel mio blog),  e’ inserito in un parco nazionale che occupa 22km quadrati in prossimita’ della cittadina di Tammela,  non lontano da Somero.  Il lago e tutto il parco sono stati dichiarati area protetta gia’ nel 1920.  Da allora le attivita’ consentite sono senz’altro le camminate e il birdwatching,  ma anche canoa,  pesca,  camping e grill nelle aree attrezzate.  Inoltre il lago e’ pattinabile in inverno,  quando ghiacciato.  DSCN0019DSCN0021DSCN0022

Nelle zone circostanti si trovano molte seconde case di vacanza,  ben inserite nell’ambiente e seminascoste tra gli alberi per mantenere la privacy.

Il momento migliore per un giro sul lago di Liesjärvi e’ al tramonto,  secondo me,  quando le sfumature del cielo cambiano colore ed e’ piu’ facile incontrare animali come il Picchio verde,  un nidificatore locale estivo.

Il lago e’ accessibile in primavera,  estate e autunno;  in inverno la sterrata che vi ci conduce puo’ essere in condizioni non ottimali – ma vi e’ sempre un avviso esposto.DSCN0013DSCN0018DSCN0014

An Outing to Liesjärvi.

Liesjärvi lake (which you have already seen in my blog),  is inserted in a 22 square kilometers large national park near the town of Tammela,  not far from Somero.  The lake and the entire park were declared a protected area as early as 1920.  Since then,  the permitted activities have been:  walking and birdwatching,  but also canoeing,  fishing,  camping and grilling in the equipped areas.  Furthermore,  the lake can be skated on in winter,  when frozen.

In the surrounding areas there are many holiday homes,  well integrated into the environment and half hidden among the trees to maintain privacy.

The best time for a hike at Lake Liesjärvi is at sunset,  in my opinion,  when the shades of the sky change color and it’s easier to meet animals such as the European Gray headed Woodpecker,  a local nester.  The lake is accessible in spring,  summer and autumn;  in winter the dirt road that leads to it may be in less than optimal conditions – but there is always a warning notice.
