Buona domenica,  amici del blog!

Oggi ce ne andiamo a fare un giro nel panorama musicale britannico di inizio anni ’80.  Esattamente nel 1984 il gruppo dei Psychedelic Furs,  fondato dai fratelli Richard e Tim Butler,  lanciava questo brano dal titolo:  “Heaven” e dalla tematica importante e pesantissima.  Il testo riguarda infatti la guerra nucleare,  che in quegli anni in cui eravamo in piena guerra fredda tra superpotenze,  era uno fra i temi piu’ scottanti.

Il 6 agosto 1945 fu lanciata la prima bomba atomica sopra Hiroshima.

Purtroppo sembra che non abbiamo imparato niente dalla nostra storia e che il tema dei temi stia tornando d’attualita’.

Today we’re going for a tour of the British music scene of the early ’80s.  In 1984 the post-punk band Psychedelic Furs,  founded by brothers Richard and Tim Butler,  launched this song entitled “Heaven” with an important and crucial theme.  The text in fact concerns nuclear war.  In those years when we were in the midst of the cold war between superpowers,  it was one of the hottest topics. 

On 6 August 1945 the first atomic bomb was dropped onto Hiroshima.

Unfortunately it seems that we have learned nothing from our history and that the theme of themes is becoming relevant again.

(When choosing the photo of the day I was inspired by the name of the band:  Psychedelic Furs,  and I chose the fur of a Raccoon dog seen from my trail-cam;  this photo could also have a second reading level: the simplicity of nature contrasted with the wickedness of humans).

    Leider sind einige Homo sapiens nicht in der Lage aus Fehlern zu lernen und riskieren immer wieder aufs neue das Leben und Wohlergehen ihrer Mitmenschen.
    Hoffen wir, dass das Weltgeschehen zur Zeit nicht eskaliert 🙈
