Un bel giorno di maggio,  lungo una sterrata in mezzo al bosco dietro casa in Finlandia,  ho quasi investito queste due bellissime farfalle intente all’accoppiamento.

Voi riuscite a vederle cosi’ ben mimetizzate?

Eccole.  Per fortuna una mi e’ volata contro,  mentre mi avvicinavo,  cosi’ le ho evitate.  Quindi mi sono appostata per fotografarle.

Si tratta di due farfalle Licenide del rovo – Kangasperhonen  (Callophrys rubi).

CURIOSITA’:   In Veneto “andare in camporella” significa appartarsi per amoreggiare tra le frasche.

Spring Mating

One beautiful day in May,  along a dirt road in the middle of the woods behind my house in Finland,  I almost ran over these two beautiful butterflies intent on mating. 

Can you see them so well camouflaged?

Here they are.  Luckily one flew at me as I approached,  so I avoided them.

So I set out to photograph them.

They are two Green hairstreaks – Kangasperhonen  (Callophrys rubi).

FUN FACT:   In my Italian region,  Veneto,  the title of this post “in camporella”,  means to hide in a bush to flirt.
