Buona festa della mamma!

Oggi,  cari lettori,  non posso che rivolgere tutti i miei pensieri,  le mie emozioni e le mie intenzioni alla mia dolce mamma che non c’e’ piu’.

L’anno 2023 e’ stato cattivo con me:  mi ha privato della sua vicinanza.  Anche se era molto anziana,  il dolore e’ stato grande,  poiche’ eravamo molto legate,  visto che sono figlia unica.  Ho avuto comunque il dono e il privilegio di poterla seguire e questo ci ha unite ancora di piu’.  Ora cerco di concentrarmi su cio’ che mi ha lasciato:  i suoi consigli e il suo esempio di donna forte e saggia.  Avere questo blog mi ha aiutata a distrarmi ed elaborare il dolore.

Dedico questo post a tutte le mamme che conosco e che per pura coincidenza sono volate via nell’ultimo periodo:  la mamma di Barbara,  la mamma di Elena,  di Sonia,  la mamma di Don Giorgio,  la mia collega Paola R. (che era mamma),  la mamma di Andreas.  Aggiungo la  mamma di Risto,  mia suocera,  che pure hanno lasciato un gran vuoto.

Come commento musicale ho scelto l’ultima canzone dei Beatles,  per tre ragioni:  primo perche’ e’ uscita proprio nel periodo in cui mia mamma se ne stava andando,  secondo perche’ e’ una melodia particolarmente struggente e terzo per quel refrain che dice:  “Now and then…I miss you”.

Happy Mother’s Day!

Today,  dear readers,  I can only concentrate all my thoughts,  my emotions and my intentions to my dear mother who is no longer here.

Year 2023 has been bad to me:  it just took her away from me.  Even though she was very old,  I suffered painfully,  as we were very close,  given that I am an only child.  However,  I had the gift and privilege of taking care of her and this united us even more.  Now I am trying to focus on what she left me:  her advice and example as a strong and wise woman.  Keeping this blog has helped me distract myself and process the sorrow.

I will dedicate this post to all the mothers I know and have – by mere coincidence – recently passed away:  Barbara’s mother,  Elena’s mother,  Sonia’s mother,  Don Giorgio’s mother,  my colleague Paola R. (who was a mother),  Andreas’ mother.  I will add Risto’s  mother,  my mother-in-law,  who left us as well.

As a musical commentary I chose the Beatles’ last song,  for three reasons:  first because it was released right around the time my mother was leaving,   secondly because it has a heartbreaking melody,  thirdly for that refrain that says: “Now and then…I miss you”.

  27. la ‘Festa’ della Mamma, essere madre e non più figlia euna sensazione dolorosa quando senti forte la mancanza del suo abbraccio. Lei c’è ma a volte la sua carezza nel vento non basta. Ti sono vicina ❤️
