Con nostro grande piacere,  abbiamo letto che il National Geographic ha inserito nella sua statistica di 21 ristoranti imperdibili a livello mondiale anche un posticino delizioso che si trova in Finlandia.  Si tratta dell’agriturismo Tertin Kartano,  che si trova poco fuori la citta’ di Mikkeli,  nell’est del Paese.

E’ un fatto assodato che la cucina finlandese si e’ molto evoluta negli ultimi decenni,  anche tramite contaminazioni ed ispirazioni straniere,  pur mantenendo l’alto standard di qualita’ e genuinita’ delle materie prime prodotte localmente.  In altre parole,  mi sento di rassicurare tutti i miei lettori:  venite in Finlandia,  prometto che non vi daremo solo porridge da mangiare!

A Culinary Gem.

To our great pleasure,  we read that National Geographic has also included a delicious place located in Finland in its statistics of 21 culinary gems worldwide.  This is the Tertin Kartano farm,  which is located just outside the city of Mikkeli,  in east Finland.

It is an established fact that Finnish cuisine has evolved a lot in recent decades,  also through foreign contamination and inspiration,  while maintaining the high standard of quality and authenticity of locally produced raw materials.  In other words,  dear readers be reassured:  if you come to Finland you will not be fed only on porridge!

  7. I have to confess that I know nothing about traditional Finnish cuisine. So I can’t judge to what extent this restaurant’s menu is, or isn’t, inspired by local tradition.
    Thanks for sharing, though for me it’s a bit too far to pop out for Sunday lunch 😉🍱
