Tra Italia e Finlandia

Un mese nelle mie foto.

Agosto è stato un mese assai complicato in Italia:  il tempo atmosferico ha infierito portando tempeste e grandinate a inizio mese e caldo africano verso la fine.  L’estate che dovrebbe essere un tempo di svago e rilassamento è stata invece fonte di preoccupazione per molti:  si sono registrati casi di violenze,  risse,  pestaggi,  femminicidi…a cui si sono aggiunti gli incredibili incendi boschivi spesso dolosi.  Insomma agosto ha fatto il pieno di episodi negativi.

In Finlandia il tempo è stato mite,  come nella statistica dell’estate nordica.  Abbiamo avuto piogge regolari e il bosco ha portato a maturazione i mirtilli e i primi funghi.

C’è di buono che nonostante il tempo talvolta insopportabile e i prezzi altissimi per certi servizi,  il settore turistico ha avuto dei buoni risultati:  persino nel piccolo aeroporto di Verona siamo arrivati a lambire il numero di presenze pre-covid.

A proposito di questo,  va detto che le compagnie aeree non sono tornate affatto ai livelli pre-pandemia come qualità dei servizi:  ovviamente la sicurezza deve essere la prima cosa,  ma anche la soddisfazione del passeggero ha la sua importanza.  Un inconveniente che sta capitando ancora moltissimo è il mancato arrivo del bagaglio da stiva,  che viene lasciato indietro perchè gli scali non riescono a trasferirlo in tempo da un volo all’altro.  La procedura per la verità è lunga e i bagagli in transito vengono radiogenati in alcuni casi,  ma probabilmente il punto è la scarsità di personale che fa un lavoro durissimo,  sempre alle intemperie e chissà per quale stipendio…

Fra le notizie di spicco che arrivano dall’Italia,  c’è il repulisti pressochè totale che il governo di destra ha fatto nella tv pubblica,  tentando di ridurre le voci di dissenso.  Immaginate ciò che sto per dirvi?  Che in Finlandia la tv pubblica non è soggetta al governo ed ai cambi di colore del governo,  ma al parlamento,  quindi non si fanno epurazioni, ma si cerca di preservare la pluralità dell’informazione.  Ovviamente le tv private si autogestiscono.

Inoltre non vi sono presenze di “letterine,  schedine,  veline,  ereditiere…” cioè ragazze seminude che fanno da corollario a un conduttore maschio.  Dirò di più:  le giornaliste e/o conduttrici di talk-show non sono mai scollacciate.

Un’altra notizia che ha fatto discutere è il limite di velocità di 30km orari imposto nel centro di Bologna.  Molti hanno lamentato essere troppo basso.  In Finlandia nelle vie centrali dei paesi/città il limite è di 40km orari,  mentre nelle vie secondarie è di 50.

La guerra sta diventando sempre più di attrito,  senza che una delle due parti riesca a prevalere.  Naturalmente tutti gli stati ex-Urss,  quelli che sono riusciti a sottrarsi alla dittatura sovietica,  si augurano che l’Ucraina riesca a portare a casa un risultato,  altrimenti temono di essere i prossimi invasi.  Come dargli torto?

A Month in my Photos.

August was a very complicated month in Italy:  the weather raged,  bringing storms and hailstorms at the beginning of the month and African heat towards the end.  Summer should be a time of leisure and relaxation, but has instead been a source of concern for many:  cases of violence,  fights,  beatings,  femicides have been recorded… moreover the incredible number of arson forest fires.  In short,  August was full of negative episodes.

In Finland the weather was mild,  as in the Nordic summer statistics.  We had regular rains and the forest brought the blueberries and the first mushrooms to maturity.

The good thing is that despite the sometimes unbearable weather and the very high prices for certain services,  the tourist industry has had good results:  even in the small Verona airport we have reached the pre-covid number of presences.

As regards this,  it must be said that airlines have not returned to pre-pandemic levels in terms of service quality:  obviously safety must come first,  but passenger satisfaction is also important.  An inconvenience that is still happening often is the non-arrival of checked baggage,  which is left behind because airports are unable to transfer it in time from one flight to another.  The procedure is actually long and the luggage in transit is x-rayed in some cases,  but the point is probably the shortage of personnel who do a very hard job,  always exposed to  bad weather and who knows for what salary…

Among the leading news arriving from Italy,  is the almost total cleanup that the right-wing government has carried out on public television,  attempting to reduce the voices of dissent.  Can you imagine what I’m about to tell you?  That in Finland public TV is not subject to the government and to the government’s changes,  but to the parliament,  so there are no purges.  Obviously private TVs manage by themselves.

Furthermore,  there are no groups of half-naked girls who accompany/surround any showman;  as well as lady journalists and/or talk-show hosts do not wear low-necked dresses.

Another piece of news that has caused discussion is the speed limit of 30km per hour imposed in the city center of Bologna.  Many have complained that it is too low.  In Finland the limit is 40km per hour in the main streets of towns/cities,  while in secondary streets it is 50.

The war is becoming more and more a war of battles,  with neither side being able to prevail.  Naturally all the former USSR countries,  those that managed to escape the Soviet dictatorship,  hope that Ukraine will be able to get a result,  otherwise they fear being invaded next.  How to blame them?
