Tra Italia e Finlandia

Oggi alcune notizie dal fronte economico,  un post che fara’ piacere ai miei lettori interessati a questo aspetto della vita qui in Finlandia.

Il titolo dell’articolo trovato sul Helsingin Sanomat dice:  “Come la guerra ha intaccato il portafoglio dei finlandesi”.   Nei grafici seguenti lo vediamo:

In questo primo grafico si analizzano i prezzi di Benzina e Diesel (espressi in Euro per Litro) attraverso l’anno passato e fino al gennaio 2023.  Come si vede,  il momento peggiore e’ stato in corrispondenza dell’inizio guerra,  come e’ avvenuto nel resto d’Europa.

Al momento il prezzo della Benzina fluttua tra i 1,90 e i 2,10 Euro/Litro.

In questo secondo grafico si analizza il prezzo dell’Elettricita’ negli anni 2020-2022 (espresso in Euro per Megawatt-ora).   Il commento dice che nell’agosto 2022 il prezzo dell’energia elettrica era per il 283% piu’ elevato che nell’agosto 2021.

Per fare fronte ai rincari e alle speculazioni,   ma anche per ottenere energia più pulita,  in Finlandia stanno letteralmente spuntando come funghi impianti a pannelli solari in aziende e case private ed eolici in vari punti del Paese.

A Somero dopo adeguate ricerche e misurazioni,  sta sorgendo su una collinetta reputata il luogo piu ventoso,  un impianto eolico a 4 pale.

Il prezzo crudo dell’energia elettrica va al momento dagli 1 ai 20 centesimi di euro come da rilevazione borsistica.  Dipende poi dal contratto che ciascuno ha col fornitore.

In questo terzo grafico si esprime quanto sia aumentato il prezzo degli alimentari dal gennaio 2022 al gennaio 2023,  prendendo come base i prezzi del 2015.

La vita qui al nord e’ sempre stata costosa,  specialmente il cibo ha prezzi mediamente piu’ elevati che in Italia,  perche’ in molta parte viene importato,  specie le verdure.  Quindi anche uscire a pranzo o a cena costa maggiormente.

Il massimo l’ho verificato io stessa la settimana scorsa: in un supermercato le pere Conference (importate dall’Olanda) costavano oltre 4 euro al chilo.

Fra le altre notizie,  un report relativo agli anni 2015-2020 che indica come la Finlandia abbia contribuito ad eliminare maggior quantita’ di anidride carbonica di quella che ha emesso,  grazie all’estensione delle sue foreste.  Nella foto scattata dalla NASA che vedete pubblicata sul giornale,  le aree verdi sono le piu’ ecologiche,  mentre andando verso il rosso…

Infine,  un titolo che invita al movimento:  “Alza il culo ed esci coi tuoi figli”,  dice.  Il governo infatti vorrebbe che la popolazione praticasse maggiormente sport e movimento nella natura al fine di mantenersi piu’ sani:  magari uscendo coi bambini e abituando anche loro al movimento.  Infatti qui iniziano ad essere preoccupati che la popolazione sia sempre meno attiva e sempre piu’ vittima del sovrappeso e dell’obesita’,  il che significa costi sociali piu’ alti,  meno forza lavoro e aspettativa di vita ridotta.

Business News.

Today some news from the pint of view of Economics.  A post that will please my readers interested in this aspect of life here in Finland. 

The headline of the article found in the Helsingin Sanomat says: “How the war affected the Finns’ wallet”.  We will see it in the above graphs:

This first graph analyzes the prices of Petrol and Diesel (expressed in Euros per Litre) through the past year and up to January 2023.  As you can see,  the worst moment was at the beginning of the war,  as it is occurred in the rest of Europe.  At the moment the price of petrol fluctuates between 1.90 and 2.10 Euros/litre.

The second graph analyzes the price of electricity in the years 2020-2022 (expressed in Euros per Megawatt-hour).  The comment says that in August 2022 the price of electricity was 283% higher than in August 2021.

In order to cope with high prices and speculation, but also to obtain cleaner energy,  solar panel systems (in companies and private homes)  and wind farms are literally popping up in Finland in various parts of the country.

After long-term research and measurements,  a 4-blade wind farm is being built in Somero too,  on a small hill reputed to be the windiest place.

The raw price of electricity currently ranges from 1 to 20 euro cents as per Stock market survey.  The final price  depends on the contract that one has with the supplier.

The third graph shows how much the price of food increased from January 2022 to January 2023, taking 2015 prices as a basis.  Life here in the north has always been expensive,  especially food has higher average prices than in Italy,  because much of it is imported,  especially vegetables.  So even going out for lunch or dinner costs more.

I verified a top price myself last week:  ‘Conference’ pears (imported from Holland) cost over 4 euros per kilo in a supermarket.

Among other news,  a report relating to the years 2015-2020 which indicates that Finland has contributed to eliminating a greater quantity of carbon dioxide than produced,  thanks to the extension of its forests.  In the photo taken by NASA that you see published in the newspaper,   the green areas are the most ecological,  whereas going towards the red…

Finally,  a headline that invites to being physically active:  “Get off your ass and go out with your children”.  The government would like the population to practice more sports and exercise in nature in order to stay healthier:  maybe going out with their children and getting them used to exercise too.  In fact,  the government is concerned that the population is increasingly less active and more and more the victim of overweight and obesity,  which means higher social costs,  less workforce and reduced life expectancy.
