Ogni primavera arriva dal sud Europa un gentile uccellino che si occupa di ripulire le nostre rose dai minuscoli parassiti che potrebbero danneggiarle.
Si chiama: Hernekerttu (Sylvia curruca), in italiano: Bigiarella. Vive nelle regioni a nord dell’equatore di Asia, Africa ed Europa. E’ un piccolo migratore, lungo 12-13cm ed e’ appunto un insettivoro, ma al bisogno non disdegna bacche e frutti vari. Nelle mie foto la vedete becchettare con gusto la nostra “salsiccia” appesa fuori.
La Bigiarella vanta una parente illustre: la Capinera (Sylvia atricapilla). Nel video seguente la vedete in compagnia:

Every spring a gentle little bird arrives from southern Europe to take care of cleaning our roses from the tiny bugs that could damage them.
Its name is: Hernekerttu (Sylvia curruca), in English: Lesser whitethroat. It lives in the regions north of the equator of Asia, Africa and Europe. It is a small migrant, 12-13cm long and is indeed an insectivore, but when necessary it does not disdain berries and various fruits. In my photos you can see it pecking with taste at our “sausage” hanging outside.
The Lesser whitethroat boasts an illustrious relative: the Eurasian blackcap (Sylvia atricapilla).
