Giardini di Villandry #2.

Come detto,  i giardini di Villandry sono meravigliosi e curatissimi.  Essi si articolano in piu’ parti,  disposte su piu’ livelli,  che creano una gran varieta’ di scene,  di terrazzamenti,  di colori e di accostamenti.  Oggi li visitiamo.

Si dice che la tradizione medievale tramandata dai monaci che curavano sia fiori che frutti e verdure,  abbia dato l’idea per questi giardini,  nei quali si fa un’attenta rotazione dei fiori a seconda della stagione e si producono diverse verdure,  nonche’ uve.

Le diverse parti di cui si compongono i giardini hanno anche diversi nomi e non mancano alcune fontane.

Per concludere:  il terrazzamento piu’ appariscente,  che si chiama:  Giardino Ornamentale,  nella foto seguente.

E quello piu’ inusuale,  visto che siamo in stagione di zucche:

As mentioned,  the Villandry gardens are wonderful and meticulously maintained.  They are divided into several parts,  arranged on several levels,  creating a great variety of scenes,  terraces,  colors,  and combinations.  Today we will visit them.

It is said that the medieval tradition passed down by monks who tended both flowers and fruits and vegetables inspired these gardens,  in which flowers are carefully rotated according to the season and various vegetables,  as well as grapes,  are produced.

The different parts that make up the gardens also have different names and there is no shortage of fountains.

Finally,  the most striking terrace,  called the Ornamental Garden…

And the most unconventional one,  since we are in pumpkin season.

  14. What a beautiful garden. It’s so well-maintained. It’s a perfect example of domesticated nature, just the opposite of the ideal English garden.
