Cari amici del mio blog,  oggi vi spiego il motivo del duomo di Reykjavik aperto al pubblico al di fuori dei servizi religiosi.

Ogni martedi’ sera alle 20.00 ininterrottamente dal 2016,  come ci ha raccontato lui stesso,  un professore di musica,  il pianista Olaf Eliasson,   apre il duomo e suona musica di Johann Sebastian Bach per chi vuole sentirlo,  per una mezz’oretta.  Il concerto e’ gratuito,  il professore accetta solo offerte.

Col suo permesso ho filmato la sua esecuzione del Preludio n. 1 in do maggiore del grande compositore tedesco e ve lo propongo:

Ne consegue che:  se decidete di andare a visitare l’Islanda e vi piace Bach,  fate in modo di trovarvi nei pressi del duomo di Reykjavik il martedi’ sera alle 20.00,  perche’ un generoso pianista suonera’ per voi e potrete vedere gli interni della cattedrale.

The Pianist in the Cathedral.

Dear blog friends,  today I’ll explain why Reykjavik Cathedral is open to the public outside of religious services.

Every Tuesday evening at 8:00 PM since 2016,  as he himself told us,  a music professor,  pianist Olaf Eliasson,  opens the cathedral and plays music by Johann Sebastian Bach for anyone who wants to hear him,  for about half an hour.  The concert is free;  the professor accepts donations only.

With his permission,  I filmed his performance of Prelude No. 1 in C major by the great German composer,  and I’m sharing it with you in the above video.

So,  if you decide to visit Iceland and you like Bach,  make sure you’re near the Reykjavik Cathedral on Tuesday evenings at 8:00 PM,  because a generous pianist will be playing for you and you will be able to enjoy the Cathedral interiors.
