Rosalinda.

Buona domenica d’estate!

Buon ascolto!   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LB-tkHD4uXU&list=RDLB-tkHD4uXU&start_radio=1

Happy Sunday!

Today,  in keeping with last Sunday’s post,  I propose a song by Billy Joel that has a similar woman’s name in its title:  “Rosalinda’s Eyes”.  The rhythm of the two songs also matches.

The composer describes his difficult beginnings as a piano bar pianist and dedicates this delicate and nostalgic song to Rosalinda,  in whose eyes he finds the “Cuban skies” that give him serenity.  The Rosalinda in the song is actually Billy’s mother,  Rosalind.

I just want to say that this song is very sweet.

Enjoy it!    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LB-tkHD4uXU&list=RDLB-tkHD4uXU&start_radio=1

(In my shot:  unfortunately not Cuban skies,  but an Italian sunset seen from a country road in Siena).

Crazy latin dancingSolo down in Herald SquareOh, HavanaI’ve been searching for you everywhereAnd though I’ll never be thereI know what I would see thereI can always find my Cuban skiesIn Rosalinda’s eyes
When she smilesShe gives everything to meWhen she’s all alone she criesI’d do anything to take away her tearsBecause they’re Rosalinda’s eyes
Señorita, don’t be lonelyI will soon be thereOh, HavanaI’ve been searching for you everywhereI’ve got a chance to make itIt’s time for me to take itI’ll return before the fire diesIn Rosalinda’s eyes
All alone in a Puerto Rican bandUnion wages, wedding clothesHardly anyone has seen how good I amBut Rosalinda says she knows
Crazy latin dancingSolo down in Herald SquareOh, HavanaI’ve been searching for you everywhereAnd though I’ll never be thereI know what I would see thereI can always find my Cuban skiesIn Rosalinda’s eyes(Okay)
Señorita, don’t be lonelyI will soon be thereOh, HavanaI’ve been searching for you everywhereI’ve got a chance to make itIt’s time for me to take itAnd I’ll return before the fire diesIn Rosalinda’s eyes
