Un robottino.

Da qualche tempo,  il supermercato S-Market in centro a Somero ha iniziato una nuova pratica di consegna a domicilio,  usando il robottino elettrico che vedete nelle foto.

Naturalmente tutto viene gestito tramite app:  il cliente ordina,  gli addetti del market inseriscono l’ordine nel vano del robot e poi lo inviano all’indirizzo del cliente,  il quale puo’ seguire tutto il tragitto tramite app.  Il cliente viene avvisato sia dello stimato orario di arrivo del robot sia dell’arrivo effettivo e aprira’ il vano contenente l’ordine solo con l’inserimento di un dato codice.

Questo servizio per il momento copre una zona limitata nel centro di Somero,  che ha un raggio di 3 km e l’arrivo e’ garantito entro 1 ora.  Il robot ha una capienza di circa due borse della spesa e si possono ordinare sia cibi freschi che surgelati e bevande.

La scritta significa:  lasciatemi il posto libero qui,  grazie!  😉

Questo robot non parla,  ma e’ in grado di chiedere aiuto in caso di incidente;  se si ribalta (ad esempio la neve alta puo’ causargli qualche problema),  la ditta garantisce che comunque il vano che contiene l’ordinazione non si apre.

Questo servizio si chiama:  Robotransport ed e’ un prodotto di Starship Technologies,  una societa’ estone che sviluppa robot semoventi tra Tallinn e Helsinki.

Scorrendo la loro pagina web,  ho scoperto che molte localita’ in Finlandia hanno gia’ adottato questo servizio e che sono arrivate ordinazioni anche da Paesi stranieri,  ad esempio dal Canada

In queste ultime foto (tutte mie,  come sempre),  il robot che va sulla pista ciclabile/pedonale e che aspetta educatamente di attraversare sulle strisce…lo vedete al centro dell’incrocio?

A Small Robot.

For some time now,  the S-Market supermarket in the center of Somero has started a new home delivery practice,  using the electric robot you see in the photos.  

Of course,  everything is managed via app:  the customer orders,  the store staff insert the order into the robot’s compartment and then send it to the customer’s address,  who can follow the entire journey via app.  The customer is notified of both the estimated arrival time of the robot and its actual arrival and will open the compartment containing the order only by inserting a given code. 

For the moment,  this service covers a limited area in the centre of Somero,  which has a radius of 3 km and arrival is guaranteed within 1 hour.  The robot has a capacity of about two shopping bags and you can order both fresh and frozen foods and drinks.

The notice at the robopark means:  leave me free place here,  thanks! 😉

This robot does not speak,  but it is able to ask for help in case of an accident;  if it tips over (for example,  deep snow can cause some problems),  the company guarantees that the compartment containing the order will not open anyway.

This service is called:  Robotransport and is a product of Starship Technologies,  an Estonian company that develops self-propelled delivery vehicles between Tallinn and Helsinki.

Scrolling through their website,  I discovered that many locations in Finland have already adopted this service and that orders have also arrived from foreign countries,  for example from Canada.

In the final photos (all mine,  as always),  the robot is travelling on the cycle/pedestrian lane and politely waits to cross at the crosswalk…can you see it in the middle of the crossing?

  7. Interesting concept, I hadn’t heard of it. I wonder if people could just pick up the robot and take it home….but probably someone will always know where it is,

  8. These robots are so cute ❤ Some dogs bark at them, the others just don’t seem to mind them at all.

    Snowy roads can be a problem, once I had to help a robot to get over a difficult spot, the robot was so heavy!

  23. Interesting, how popular is it? I can see it working here in the city centre, but our suburbs are so spread out, it wouldn’t be practical. But I’m likely wrong and I’m sure they’re already looking at larger than 3 km. Maggie
