Lofoten (part 1).

Nella bella estate 2023,  l’amica Mari e suo marito Walther sono passati a trovarci a casa nostra a Somero,  durante il loro viaggio in moto verso Capo Nord e le isole Lofoten.

Mari e Walther sono centauri appassionati e soprattutto sono appassionati di nord Europa e di climi freschi.  Questa non era la loro prima volta a Capo Nord perchè nel corso degli anni vi erano andati in molte altre circostanze e non era nemmeno la prima volta che si fermavano da noi:  ci eravamo visti a luglio 2019.

Dopo aver viaggiato dall’Italia attraverso Austria,  Polonia,  Repubbliche Baltiche,  sono sbarcati a Helsinki la mattina e in tarda mattinata erano a Somero.  Abbiamo condiviso un pranzetto a base di salmone fiammeggiato e patate novelle del nostro orto,  dopodichè hanno ripreso il viaggio.

Le Lofoten sono un arcipelago che si trova a circa 200km a nord del Circolo polare artico al largo della costa norvegese.   Caratterizzate da paesaggi unici e bellissimi,  le Lofoten vantano montagne che si gettano a picco nel mare e orizzonti frastagliati immersi nel blu.

Lofoten  (part 1).

In the beautiful summer of 2023,  our friend Mari and her husband Walther came to visit us at our house in Somero,  during their motorbike trip to the North Cape and the Lofoten islands.

Mari and Walther are passionate bike riders and above all they are passionate about northern Europe and cool climates.  This wasn’t their first time at the North Cape because over the years they have been there on many other occasions and it wasn’t even the first time they stopped with us:  we had seen each other in July 2019.

After starting from Verona and traveling through Austria,  Poland,  Baltic Republics,  they landed in Helsinki in the morning and by late morning were in Somero.  We shared a small lunch of flamed salmon and new potatoes from our garden,  after which they continued their journey.

I will share with you some of their panoramic photographs of the Lofoten islands in this post.

Lofoten is an archipelago located approximately 200km north of the Arctic Circle off the coast of Norway.  Characterized by unique and beautiful landscapes,  Lofoten boasts mountains that plunge straight into the sea and jagged horizons immersed in the blue.
