Anziane.

Anche gli animali invecchiano,  eccome.  Nelle mie foto:  una serie di farfalle ormai anziane,  sulle quali i predatori o qualche incidente di volo hanno lasciato il segno.

Le loro ali leggermente scolorite non vi ricordano le chiome canute della terza eta’?

Dedico questo post a tutti gli anziani:  ricordiamoci di guardarli con il massimo rispetto,  proprio in nome di quello che sono stati.

Elderly.

Animals get old too,  as well as we do.  In my photos:  a series of “elderly” butterflies,  on which predators or some flight accident have left their mark.

Look at their slightly discolored wings,  don’t they remind you of human gray hair?

I dedicate this post to the elderly:  let’s remember to look at them with the utmost respect,  precisely in the name of what they were.

  27. sai che non ho mai fatto caso all’invecchiamento delle farfalle, tra l’altro vivono così poco, che praticamente sono sempre giovani, probabilmente neppure ce ne accorgiamo che stanno invecchiando. Belle e interessanti queste immagini 👍👍😉

  33. When my girls were younger they used to find and rescue the “elderly” butterflies and moths from the birds. They would keep them in their butterfly habitats allowing them to live out their last hours or day peacefully enjoying the flower in which they had been found. Usually the butterfly received a name and when the time came it was given a burial as only little girls can give.

  38. Excellent collection! You put the focus on something we tend to oversee. I see a lot of butterflies with torn wings but I prefer to take pictures of the fresh exemplars where the wings are still complete. My photos are very often more beautiful than the reality. In fact it is amazing how they can still fly with half a wing. They even change the frequency of their movements. Thank you for these lovely pictures.

  43. Bellissime foto, e belklissime farfalle, anche se provate dal tempoe dalle battaglie…. Le vedevo, le vanesse che avevano passato l’inverno, con il volo stanco e le ali un po’ sfrangiata e scolorite…. Ciao!
