Lindos e’ un paesino arroccato tra colline,  boschi mediterranei e spiagge,  situato in un’ampia baia poco lontano da Rodi,  capitale dell’omonima isola greca nel Mar Egeo.

Il paesino e’ piuttosto piccolo,  ha poco piu’ di 3000 abitanti,  ma e’ davvero pittoresco:  strette viuzze con negozietti che attraggono i numerosi turisti,  taverne e ristoranti che attraggono con i loro profumi e il clima che esalta i colori della terra greca.

In questo post vi propongo la salita all’acropoli di Lindos,  dove si trovano i resti del tempio dorico di Atena Lindia,  ma anche del Castello edificato dai Cavalieri di Rodi.  La salita si fa a piedi anche perche’ l’altitudine e’ di soli 116 metri ed una volta lassu’ ci si immerge nel passato remoto della storia e della civilta’ europee.  Non solo:  il panorama sulle spiagge e sui paesini circostanti e’ mozzafiato.

Lindos.

Lindos is a village perched between hills,  Mediterranean woodlands and beaches,  located in a large bay not far from Rhodes,  the capital town of the Greek island of the same name in the Aegean Sea.

The village is quite small,  (just about 3000 inhabitants),  but really picturesque:  narrow streets crammed with small shops to attract many tourists,  taverns and restaurants which let out capturing scents and the climate that enhances the colors of the Greek land.

In this post I will share the ascent to the acropolis of Lindos,  where you will admire the remains of the Doric temple of Athena Lindia,  but also the Castle built by the Knights of Rhodes.  You will climb on foot also because the altitude is only 116 meters and once up there you can immerse yourself in the remote past of European history and civilization.  More than that:  the view of the surrounding beaches and villages is breathtaking.
