Tornando a parlare di FORTUNA,   anche il numero 7 ha fama di buon auspicio.  In molte culture questo numero rappresenta la perfezione,  tanto da aver dato origine ad una serie di proverbi,  modi di dire,  oggetti,  superstizioni,  tradizioni:  il menorah (candelabro ebraico a sette braccia);  la settimana;  essere al settimo cielo;   i sette mari…

Forse l’origine del mito trae spunto da osservazioni astronomiche:  le Pleiadi sono 7 stelle o il ciclo delle lunazioni:  28 giorni.

Come sapete,  io sono una fotografa,  certo non mi interesso di numerologia o scienze occulte,  percio’ lascio a voi ricercare i significati del numero sette e vi propongo una foto secondo me magnifica,  un vero scherzo della natura:  una simpatica vitellina con impresso sulla fronte proprio il numero sette.  Chissa’ se le ha portato fortuna…

Il brano musicale che ho scelto per questa domenica,  e’ di Sting e si intitola nientemeno che:  Seven Days.  Narra la vicenda di un fidanzato indeciso cui la fidanzata da dato un ultimatum:  deciditi!  Ma chissa’ come va a finire… 😉  (Il testo e’ in calce)

Seven.

Going back to our theme:  GOOD FORTUNE,   the number 7 also has a reputation for good luck.  In many cultures this number represents perfection,  so much so that it has given rise to a series of proverbs,  idioms,  objects,  superstitions,  traditions:  the menorah (Hebrew seven-branched candelabrum);  the seven days of the week;  to be in seventh heaven;   the seven seas …

Perhaps the myth started inspired by astronomical observations:  the Pleiades are 7 stars or the moon phases:  28 days. 

As you know,  I am a photographer and I am not interested in numerology or occult sciences,  so I leave it to you to research the meanings of the number seven.  Instead,  I propose you a magnificent photo,  a real freak of nature:  a nice little calf with the number seven right on her forehead.  I wonder if it brought her luck …

The musical interval I have chosen for today is a lovely and ironical son by Sting,  the title is:  Seven Days.  The story tells about a lover who has to deal with the ultimatum given by his lover.  Who knows how it may end??  😉

  7. Adoro i numeri, ma reputo la numerologia alla stregua della astrologia.
    Certamente certi numeri si ripetono in natura con cicli non casuali, e molti numeri hanno assunto nella varie epoche/culture/filosofie/religioni significati del tutto particolari.

    Bella la vitellina.
