Cari lettori,  buona domenica invernale a tutti!

Nella tradizione finlandese,  le settimane dopo il periodo natalizio sono definite:  “Härkä viikot”,  cioe’:  le settimane dei buoi.

Avete gia’ intuito il significato del detto, vero?  Si’…proprio cosi’,  sono le settimane in cui “mai ‘na gioia” e si tira solamente il carretto o l’aratro,  tanto quanto facevano i buoi prima dell’avvento dei trattori.

Persino la Chiesa Cattolica le chiama ” tempo ordinario”.

Dunque io ho pensato di dedicarmi e dedicarvi l’ascolto di una piccola gioia che ha proprio questo titolo:  Ordinary World.  E’ dei Duran Duran,  gruppo che ho amato nella mia gioventu’ e che negli anni ’80 aveva sonorita’ decisamente gradevoli.  Ve la propongo in una versione un po’ meno patinata del loro solito.  Sono affezionata a questa canzone perche’ usci’ nella primavera del 1993,  quando ho incontrato mio marito.

Un verso significativo:  “As I try to make my way to the ordinary world / I will learn to survive”.

In the Finnish tradition,  the weeks after Christmas are called:  “Härkä viikot”,  in other words the weeks of the oxen.

According to the Catholic Church,  this is “ordinary time”.

Therefore I decided to suggest listening to a song which is a little joy to me.  It has the correct title for this time:  Ordinary World,  it is by Duran Duran,  a band I used to follow in my youth and had the most agreeable sound in the 1980’s.  I have chosen a more mature version for today.  I cherish this song because it was released in the spring of 1993,  when I met my husband.

A meaningful line:  “As I try to make my way to the ordinary world / I will learn to survive”.

  29. Mi piacciono i DD, che ho anche avuto la fortuna di vedere dal vivo all’Arena di Verona (città che forse tu conosci abbastanza bene). Bell’evento.
    Ordinary World è una delle mie preferite, insieme a “Do you believe in shame” e “Come undone”. Le ricordi?

  30. Anche a me piacciono perche’ hanno portato uno stile personale pur nel ricco panorama musicale degli anni ’80. Li ho visti in Arena ultimamente, nel 2018. Li ho visti di sfuggita persino in aeroporto nel 2012, ero in servizio. 🙂 Conosco bene la loro discografia: Il mio album preferito resta Rio.
